Platform[]

Wu Kai Sha Station has two platforms that can accommodate an eight-car train, arranged into island platforms. The train directions are the same as other Tuen Ma Line stations located in Sha Tin District, which is right up and left down, which is different from most MTR stations. There is no Turnback Siding at this station, so the Tuen Ma Line trains coming from Tuen Mun will go directly to the departing platform after entering any platform of this station, then head in reverse to Tuen Mun Station. During off-peak hours, trains usually use Platform 1, and during peak hours they alternate between the 2 platforms.

The platform and the lobby are connected by two elevators, two staircases and one elevator.

When this station was opened, the platform was only five cars long, which was enough to accommodate the four-car trains used in the initial opening of KCR-icon Ma On Shan Rail; reserved structures were set at both ends of the platform to extend the platform when the number of train cars increased in the future. The expansion part has been completed and put into operation due to the extension of Ma On Shan Line trains to 8 cars, and platform gates have been installed to match this line with the West Rail Line trains. The new rail lines were later merged into the Tuen Ma Line.

Lobby[]

The lobby of Wu Kai Sha Station occupies the lower level of the two-storey station structure, and its scale is relatively small.
