Toilet (Toilet, also known as Toilet) is one of the facilities in the lobby of Railway Station in Hong Kong.
Overview[]
In the past Kowloon-Canton Railway (UK section) (now known as MTR East Rail Line), in the first batch of unrenovated yellow-headed trains (E1 There is a toilet on -E61); as it was modified to a commuter train with a larger passenger capacity in 1986, it was gradually replaced by the toilet at the station lobby. Currently, Airport Express, Disneyland Resort Line, South Island Line, and former KCR lines (East Rail Line, Tuen Ma Line (ie the original West Rail Line, Ma On Shan Line)) All stations (except Racecourse Station) have toilets.
In terms of the former MTR, most of the Urban Line stations were built in the 1970s and 1980s. At that time, considering the short journey time, usually about half an hour, and most commercial buildings and All shopping malls have toilets. Therefore, the design of stations at that time did not have public toilets, only staff toilets in non-public areas. If necessary, passengers can ask the staff to borrow these toilets. Notices have been posted outside the control room of the station platform and the lobby, informing passengers that they can ask the station staff for help, and the staff will make arrangements and accompany them. However, there is no need to make up for going to the bathroom during the trip. Some passengers took advantage of this loophole to defraud special ticket for departure fare evasion.
In terms of Disneyland Resort Line, in view of the fact that the tourists going to Hong Kong Disneyland are mainly families with children, Sunny Bay Station and Disneyland Resort Station are in the design stage Public restrooms are included. Since the merger of the two railways, when the railway company designs and plans new railway lines, it will install guest toilets in new stations. Cannes Station became the last station without public restrooms. At present, every station on the South Island Line, Template:Island Line West, Template:Kwun Tong Line Extension, Sha Tin to Central Link has a public toilet in the station.In view of the fact that passengers traveling to and from airport generally have a longer journey and carry luggage, therefore Airport Express Hong Kong Station, Kowloon Station and Tsing Yi Station included public toilets at the design stage. In addition, there are toilets on Intercity Through Train, Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Rail Link , and MTR Dynamic High-speed Rail Trains, many of which use vacuum toilets to collect feces and other waste . The early old Intercity through trains used in-line toilets, that is feces and other dirt would be discharged directly out of the rails, so """the relevant toilets are temporarily disabled in the following four situations, and the crew will lock them Go to the bathroom.
- Intercity through train when parking;
- Passing through the ballastless track section in Mainland China until leaving the relevant road section;
- via the tunnel;
- Within Hong Kong.
Existing station to add restrooms[]
In fact, adding public restrooms to stations in existing operations was a complex renovation project. In 1994, the former subway conducted a feasibility study on adding toilets at the request of passengers, and conducted a test in a corner of the lobby of one of the stations; however, adding toilets involves hygiene, odor, security and channel issues, and will refer to the practices of subways in other countries , the study was completed within 1994. [1]MTR has also carefully studied the feasibility of adding public toilets to existing stations, and the results revealed considerable technical difficulties, including the tolerance of the sewage system, the proximity to high-voltage current facilities, and the need to install independent ventilation systems.
The MTR launched the "Listen with Your Heart, Act with Your Heart" project in 2012, spending more than 1 billion yuan to improve railway services and station facilities, including adding public toilets. MTR took the lead in 10 transfer stations (including Mong Kok Station, Prince Edward Station, Admiralty Station, Tsim Sha Tsui Station, Yau Ma Tei Station, Lai King View Station, Central Station, North Point Station, Yau Tong Station and Tiu Keng Leng Station) to provide toilets during major renovation works.
Among them, the guest toilets at Mong Kok Station and Prince Edward Station were opened in January 2015; the new toilets in Admiralty Station were also opened on 201612 In conjunction with the opening of South Island Line; the guest toilets of Tiu Keng Leng Station, Yau Tong Station, Lai King Station and Central Station have also been opened It will open in 2019; the guest toilets of Yau Ma Tei Station and North Point Station will also open in 2020. The remaining Tsim Sha Tsui Station guest toilets will also be opened in 2022, and all interchange stations will be equipped with guest toilets thereafter.
