A not in service train parking at Platform 3 of this stop
This stop is the terminus of the Light Rail in Tin Shui Wai North, and with the proximity of the Tin Chak Shopping Centre and a number of housing estates in the vicinity, this station is well patronised. Since the cessation of Route 761 service, passengers travelling from Tin Heng to Tin Wing to Yuen Long usually switch to Route 705 to this stop to interchange with Route 761P. However, some passengers avoid using the long pedestrian walkway to platforms 4 and 2 (where they have to cross two tracks) and take one more stop to Tin Fu Stop before interchanging.[1]
Parking purposes[]
At the end of service hours (i.e. from 1:20 a.m. to 4:40 a.m.) at this stop, Platforms 1, 2 and 3 will be designated as a closed area for train service and will be encircled with plastic tape for train parking purposes in preparation for the next train service on the working day.[2]
History[]
This stop entered service on 7 December 2003 with the opening of the Tin Shui Wai Reserve Zone Extension.
