At about 9:07 a.m., the police and fire fighters received a report that smoke was coming from the bottom of a train at Che Kung Temple Station on the MTR Tuen Ma Line. After arriving at the scene, passengers on the train involved had transferred to other trains one after another. No one was injured in the incident. About 500 people had to be evacuated.
- September 9:
- At around 9:48 a.m., due to water dripping from the top of the platform track near Wong Tai Sin Station, the overhead cable insulation components failed, causing the overhead cable equipment to malfunction. Kwun Tong Line service between Shek Kip Mei and Choi Hung was suspended, and the MTR Corporation arranged feeder buses to run until 1:50 pm when temporary repairs were completed and train services returned to normal. - September 8:
- Due to severe weather, Hong Kong Tramways, Ngong Ping 360, Peak Tram services were suspended that day. MTR has also made special transportation arrangements.
- August 31:
- At 2:20 pm, an elderly man fell off the track on Platform No. 2 at Kwun Tong Station in the direction of Whampoa. He was run over and killed by an approaching train. Affected by the incident, the train service on the Kwun Tong Line between Choi Hong Station and Tiu Keng Ling Station was temporarily suspended. During the period, the MTR Corporation Limited provided free shuttle bus services between Choi Hung Station and Yau Tong Station until Train services gradually returned to normal at 3:40 p.m. [2]

- MTR will hold the "35th Anniversary Themed Light Rail Exhibition" at Platform 4 ofLight RailSiu Hong Stop from 12 noon to 2 p.m., a Phase I LRV (No. 1066) is repainted in the orange and white retro colors of the Light Rail when it opened to traffic and is on display.
- August 14:
- MTR launches "Flexible Travel" from today. Passengers on the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Rail Link
traveling between Hong Kong West Kowloon Station and Futian Station can use "Flexible Travel" for free on the day of boarding. You can change to a designated bus up to 3 times on the same day. [3][4][5]
- At around 7:47 pm, a signal failure occurred near the East Rail Line Sheung Shui Station. East Rail Line trains passed Lo Wu Station/Lok Ma Chau Station to Lok Ma Chau Station [Sheung Shui Station]] section was once required to drive slowly. Until around 9:27, the MTR Corporation stated that the signal failure near Sheung Shui Station had been temporarily repaired, and East Rail Line train services gradually returned to normal. [6][7]
- August 13:
- Around 8:40 pm, when a train bound for Lo Wu Station on the East Rail Line entered the platform of Tai Wai Station, the conductor discovered that a male passenger had jumped onto the track, it stopped immediately; the staff on the platform also pressed the emergency switch immediately to prevent other trains from entering or leaving the station. The male passenger involved in the accident was rescued without injury and was later escorted back to the platform by station staff. East Rail Line train services were briefly disrupted and gradually returned to normal at about 8:50 pm. [8][9]
- July 27:
- At 8:51 a.m., aLight RailRoute705Phase 5 LRV (1156) stopped near Tin Shui Stop in Tin Shui Wai. The vehicle crashed into the right side of a van. Three people on the van and one person on the Light Rail Vehicle suffered minor injuries and were sent to the hospital by ambulance for treatment. Affected by the accident,Light Railservices were disrupted. [10]
- July 26:
- At about 4 p.m., two workers at MTR Kowloon Bay Depot were testing the emergency exit door of the train when the door suddenly fell off. The two workers were injured and sent to the hospital. [11]
