Tai Wai Depot (大圍車廠, referred to as TAD), formerly known as 'Tai Wai Maintenance Centre (大圍維修中心), is located south of Tai Wai Station and is one of the depots for the MTR Tuen Ma Line, which started operation in December 2004[1], with the residential housing Festival City located above it.

East Rail Line trains can pass through Tai Wai Station, and there is a crossover to enter the Tai Wai Depot[2]. However, all trains maintenance procedures of the East Rail Line are carried out at Ho Tung Lau Depot, and the depot space is limited, with only 10 8-car trains allowed to park there, and other trains are located at Pat Heung Depot or Hung Hom Stabling Sidings. After the Ma On Shan Line began to use 8-car trains, some trains need to stay overnight at Tai Wai Station before Hung Hom Stabling Sidings was opened.
