Sha Tin Station is located in New Territories Sha Tin District, Sha Tin Central, Sha Tin Station Circle No .1, is MTR East Rail Line station, the platform is set on the ground, and the northbound line of Tai Po Road - Sha Tin Section is adjacent. Sha Tin Station opened on 1910October 1, and it is the earliest existing heavy rail station in Hong Kong together with Fanling Station.

Station is located in the center of Sha Tin. There is a sky bridge connecting the lobby to New Town Plaza, and it also leads directly to Citylink Plaza (formerly known as Kowloon Canton Railway Building), the building above the station. There is an endless flow of people.

Station symbol[]

The platform of Sha Tin Station used blue walls and pillars during the Kowloon Canton Railway period, but after the Two Railways Merger, it was changed to purple for station coloring. The theme plant is Cymbidium, and the street scene is Hong Kong Heritage Museum .

Like most of the East Rail Line stations, the platform wall is pasted with the name of the station in calligraphy.

There are two island platforms at Sha Tin Station, which are responsible for different train directions, providing a total of four platforms. Trains with this station as a midway station usually stop on the inner side (that is, platforms 2 and 3), and through trains passing through this station usually use the inner platform to cross the station, and when this station is the terminus train, or when waiting to avoid through trains, usually Dock outside (i.e. platforms 1, 4).

The platform can be divided into three parts according to the type of cover. One is the part under the building, the walls began to be pasted with calligraphy and pictures in late 2008, for MTR to renovate part of the East Rail Line. The second is the covered part located on the south side of the building. The third is the open-air part at the end of the platform, and the platform is narrower than the middle. Most of the places where passengers get on and off are in the covered part.

Each platform island is connected to the station concourse by two pairs of elevators, two staircases and one elevator.

The lobby of the toll zone is located on the platform, while the lobby of the non-toll zone at Exit A and B is located next to the entrance of Sha Tin Station in Link Plaza.

Customer Service Centre used to be located between the two rows of turnstiles at Exit A. It was merged and moved to the former Sha Tin Station in 2009 January 10 KCR Passenger Service Center position. In addition to general services, intercity passenger transport ticketing service is also provided.

A toilet is located in the toll area. Before the renovation of the station, it was located behind the turnstiles at Exit A. The toilets for men and women are respectively located at the elevators connecting to platforms in the direction of Lo WuLok Ma Chau. Right Side and Left side. It is currently located between the escalators at the lower end of the lobby to and from the platforms in both directions.

Train Service[]

Sha Tin Station is a intermidiate station of the East Rail Line, passengers can take trains to Lo Wu, Lok Ma Chau, or Admiralty at this station, via Sheung Shui, Fanling, Tai Po, Sha Tin, Central Kowloon, the north shore of Hong Kong Island, or transit to Shenzhen.
