Lok Ma Chau Station is located at the Lok Ma Chau Spur Line control point in Yuen Long District. Lok Ma Chau Spur Line was opened to traffic on 15 August 2007, and this station was also opened simultaneously. It was the last station opened in the history of Kowloon-Canton Railway[2]. The Lok Ma Chau wetland has been in operation since 2007. The swamps, fish ponds and reed areas in the wetland provide a protected habitat for migratory birds to maintain biodiversity. The KCRC even spent 1 million yuan to set up two "wetland viewers" in the ticket lobby on the third floor of Lok Ma Chau Station. Passengers returning to Hong Kong can enjoy the wetland landscape within a radius of 650 meters through the lens, which has an 80-fold magnification function , you can adjust the lens angle by yourself, and the lens scene will be played on the plasma TV. However, bird-watching passengers should be aware that the ticket is valid for one and a half hours (currently two and a half hours), and a fine of $500 will be imposed if you leave the gate before the merger of the two railways. [5]

After the merger of the two railways, MTR took over the management of the Lok Ma Chau Wetland, but unlike Mai Po Nature Reserve, the Lok Ma Chau Wetland is rarely open Public access, group visits are only arranged three times a year.
