Light Rail Route 761P runs between Yuen Long and Tin Yat, passing Yuen Long Main Road, Tin Yiu , Tin song, providing services to and from Yuen Long city center for residents of Tin Shui Wai. It is currently the latest light rail line with the largest route number, and the only light rail line with only auxiliary lines but no main line. It is also the line with the most daily traffic.In the past, this route was a Special Departure of Route761during peak hours.
History[]
- 8 December, 2003: Light Rail Route 761 added Special Departures between Tin Yat and Yuen Long.
- December 2004: Tin Yatspecial train was officially named as 761P, KCR in 2005 Add this route information to the timetable, the service is similar to the current 751P route. [1]
- 8 October, 2006: Upgrade to full-time service every day, and Route 761 is cancelled to alleviate the problem of insufficient trains. At the same time, KCR adopted the suggestions of some regional organizations, and provided special departures during non-peak hours from 10:00 am to 3:00 pm every day, with the frequency increased to every 30 minutes to respond to the passenger demand from Tin Heng to Tin Wing.
- 17 February, 2007: Added an all-night service on New Year’s Eve (Lunar Calendar).
- 19 July, 2010: Special Departures are switched to a one car service with train numbers 301 and 302[2]。
- 22 July, 2010: significantly reduce special services to every 60 minutes[3], the train numbers are changed to 301 and 302, and the cars are transferred to other routes.
- 23 August, 2010: Cooperating with the seventh and eighth car No. 4 trains put into service, two of the trains form a coupled-set Light Rail Vehicles to run this route, train number 099, cancel the special departure at the same time, and replace it with the normal trip of this route and the enhanced service for Routes705and706during non-peak hours, and MTR bus line K73P also Out of service. - 4 September 2010: For the first time Phase IV LRV Coupled-set Light Rail Vehicles was running on Saturday, sequence of trains for 094.
- 1 July, 2011 Evening: For the first time Renovated Light Rail tow trucks 1058-1005, the sequence is 092/ 093.
- 29 September, 2011: There are 4 trains running with a single car at the same time, and the train sequence is 091, 094, 096[5], 195. [6]
- 3 March, 2014: Encrypt the shifts during the afternoon rush hour from Monday to Friday, add a trailer train, the train sequence is 196, and cancel the train number 195 that was transferred from Route 614 075 to arrange a single car to pick up at Tin Yat , exchange the trailer sequence 075 between Yuen Long and Route614.
- September 28, 2014: From the early morning of the day (27 September driving time), the service time will be extended to connect with the last train of West Rail Line for the convenience of passengers Interchange to this route at Yuen Long Station and implement the following changes: [7]
- The last train to Tin Yat will be extended by 12 minutes to 00:56, and it will connect to all Stops along the way from Datang Road to Tong Fong Tsuen.
- Cancel the transfer of trains on the 610 line at about 22:35 from Monday to Friday nights. The shift will be changed to tow trucks, and the train sequence will be 096.
- Adjust the transfer of trains with 614 on Sunday and public holiday evenings, the departure time of the first single car will be advanced from 23:40 to 21:30, and the train sequence will be changed to 091 .
- 2015March 30th: Affected by the change of the train service arrangement of 614 line from Monday to Friday, it was originally scheduled to connect with Route614(single car sequence is 195) will be carried out by Route610.
- 2015December 20th: Adjust the train service transfer on Sunday and public holiday evenings, the original train service transfer with 614 is changed to 610 The departure time of the first shift with a single car will be delayed from 21:30 to 23:25, and the train sequence will remain unchanged until 2018. It will be adjusted to not mobilize the relevant shifts, so that all shifts on this line late at night on Sunday will be towed drive.
- 29 June, 2019: Vehicle sequence 196 changed to standby.
- 7 October, 2019: Tin Shui Wai all railway services are suspended, including this line.
- 12 November to December 15, 2019: After the Tin Shui Wai section of this route reaches Tin Yat Stop, change to 706 route Pass through Tin Heng to Tin Shui Wai, then return to the original route via Hang Mei Tseun to Yuen Long.
- 16 December, 2019: Revert to the original route, no longer via Tin Heng to Tin Shui Wai.
- 25 January, 2020: All-night service on Chinese New Year’s Eve (Lunar Calendar) will be cancelled. [8]
- 24 February, 2020: Due to the decrease in passenger volume, some departures on Sundays and public holidays will be operated with a single car. This arrangement was canceled after a few weeks.
- 31 May 2021: Phase 5 train will be dispatched for the first time during the afternoon peak hours from Monday to Friday, with the train number '195 '.
- 20 June, 2021: In response to the West Rail Line, the departure time of the last train will be delayed to accommodate the full opening of Tuen Ma Line a week later, the last train Delayed to 01:05 from Yuen Long, and 00:51 from Tin Yat.

At present, this route currently uses 20 vehicle sequence, vehicle sequence is 091-100, 191-200, busy time uses 20-22 vehicles to travel, Some train sequences were used for 614 line.
- 195 is only used during the afternoon rush hour from Monday to Friday, and will be used on Phase 5 Train from May 31, 2021;

This route has frequent departures during non-peak hours
This route has single pids in the middle of the night
This route is the only route connecting Yuen Long and Tin Shui Wai in Light Rail. Many Tin Shui Wai residents use this route to go to Yuen Long for work, school and shopping (it is closer than Tuen Mun and the fare is lower), so the passenger volume of this route Maintain high level all day. Since the passenger volume of this route is the highest among the many routes of the light rail, so most of the time, all shifts of this route uses Coupled-set Light Rail Vehicles.
In 2015, the load factor of this route during the busiest hour of the morning rush hour was 83%[12].
According to the 2019 Legislative Council documents, the passenger load factors of the busiest morning sections of this route in 2017 and 2018 were 76% and 81% respectively. [13]
Related Events[]
- 17 May, 2013: At about 4:15 p.m., a Towka train (No. : 1112 and 1117), when turning at the Hui Sha Wai Interchange Derailment and Rolling, 82 people were injured . [14] 1112 retired afterwards, and 1117 has been repaired and tested on June 7, 2014. [15]
- 19 August, 2013: At about 9:00 in the morning, a a set of Coupled Light Rail Vehicles (number: 1046 and 1006, train sequence 192) hit and killed a man crossing the road near Locwood Stop. [16]
- 22 January, 2014: At around 6:00 in the morning, an overhead cable near Tong Fong Tsuen Stop fell due to damaged insulation and hit a car bound for Yuen Long caused smoke, and no one was injured in the incident. [17]
- 28 January, 2015: At about 10 o'clock in the evening, a trailer (number: 1080, vehicle sequence 091) collided with a taxi turning left into Tin Shui on Tin Shui Road, the taxi crashed into the track, the driver and passengers were injured. [18]
- 27 November, 2017: At 8:00 am, at an intersection near the Light Rail Shui Pin Wai Stop, a vehicle on Line 614 heading towards Yuen Long touched the vehicle in front At the rear of Route 761P heading in the same direction, four passengers on Train 614 were unwell and sent to the hospital. The incident was resolved at about 8:10, and light rail services gradually returned to normal. The relevant light rail vehicles have been arranged to return to the depot for inspection.
- 4 July, 2018: At about 7:25 in the morning, a 706 train on its way to Tin Yat Stop crashed into the stop light at the junction of Tin rui Road and Tin Shui Road. Three passengers were injured in the accident. The two trains involved in traffic accidents were moved to Tin Yat Stop, and the staff arranged for passengers to alight and transfer. The two trains have since returned to the depot. [19]
- June 18, 2019: At about 8:00 pm, a train running 610 to Yuen Long (number: 1035), crashed into the rear of a tow truck (number: 1204) outside Yuen Long Stop, 5 passengers were injured . [20]
- November 3rd, 2021: At about 6:00 in the morning, a trailer (number: 1025 and 1040) at the junction of Long Yat Road and Yuen Long On Lok Road, and a Yuen Long to Sheung Shui (17) The Toyota Coaster Public light bus en route collided and four people were injured. [21]
