Light Rail Route 705loops between Tin Shui Wai South and Tin Shui Wai North, passing through Tin Tsz, Tin Shui Wai Town Centre, Tin Yat and Tin Yiu in a counterclockwise manner, operating in the form of an infinite loop, providing Tin Shui Wai residents with light rail services connected to the Tuen Ma Line.

The predecessor of this route was701, which was put into service in December 2003. In order to meet the passenger demand of the new school year starting in September 2004, KCRC extended the original 701 Tin Shui Wai South Circular to Tin Shui Wai North at the end of August, and renamed it Route705.

This route operates in a counter-clockwise manner, and its travel direction is completely opposite to Route706.

August 22, 2004: 701 Tin Shui Wai South Circular Line was extended to Tin Shui Wai North and renamed as Line 705.

  • 24 December 2004: Overnight service was introduced on Christmas Eve.
  • 31 December 2004: Overnight service was introduced on New Year's Eve.
  • 8 February 2005: Overnight service was introduced on Chinese New Year's Eve (Lunar Calendar).
  • 8 October 2006: Route761is cancelled and the LRT route map replaced with a change in colour from pink to cyan.
  • 14 September 14 2008: Overnight service was introduced for the Mid-Autumn Festival.
  • 24 December 2014: Cancellation of overnight service on Christmas Eve.
  • 31 December 2014: Cancellation of overnight service on New Year's Eve.
  • 28 March 2015: One additional trailer train will be added during morning peak, daytime and evening on Saturdays, with the frequency increased from 5.5 minutes to 4.5 minutes during morning peak, from 6.5 minutes to 5.5 minutes during daytime and from 7 minutes to 5.5 minutes during evening.
  • 27 September 2015: Overnight service cancelled on Mid-Autumn Festival.
  • 5 to 12 October 2019: MTR suspended services for one week due to the large number of Light Rail stations that were severely damaged.
  • 25 January 2020: Overnight service cancelled on New Year's Eve (Chinese New Year).
  • 20 June 2021: The last train from Tin Shui Wai will be delayed to 01:02 due to the delay in the departure time of the West Rail Line to coincide with the opening of the full Tuen Ma Line in a week's time.
