Light Rail Route 507 runs between Tin King and Tuen Mun Ferry Pier, via Leung King, Tai Hing and Town Centre.

This line is one of the "old"Light Railroutes, as it's the onlyLight Railroute that serves Tuen Mun District, yet doesn't stop at Siu Hong Station.

History[]

  • June 4th, 1989: Light Rail Route 507was put into service. It was the last full-day line to be put into service in Phase 1 of theLight Rail. It traveled from Tin King to On Ting, replacing KCR Bus Route 59.
    • KCRC held the "Commencement Ceremony of Light Rail Route 507the day before the line's commencement, and the then chairman of the Tuen Mun District Council, Lau Wong-fat, was the officiant guests.[1]
    • On the first northbound trip, the destination was displayed as "Leung King", which was later changed to Tin King.
    • During the test run, yellow was once used as the representative colour; when theLight Railwas officially opened to traffic, orange was used while the Light Rail Route 512 had been not opened.
  • September 1990: In conjunction with the construction of the Tuen Mun Branch Line, the loop at Youai Station was temporarily used.
  • November 17, 1991: The line to Tuen Mun Ferry Pier was opened to traffic, extending the line from On Ting to Tuen Mun Ferry Pier via the new line.
  • February 2, 1992: Light Rail Route 614replaced Light Rail Route 611, with theLight Railchanging its route map, and changing the line colour from orange to yellow.
  • August 23, 2003: Platform 1 of the elevated Tuen Mun Station was opened, and the northbound line was diverted to an elevated station.
  • August 31, 2003: The elevated Tuen Mun Station was fully opened, and the southbound line was diverted to an overhead station.
  • December 24, 2003: Added Christmas Eve overnight service.
  • December 31, 2003: New Year's Eve overnight service added.
  • January 21, 2004: New Year's Eve (Lunar Calendar) all-night service was added.
  • October 8, 2006: Route 761 was cancelled, and the route map of the light rail was replaced, and the representative color was changed from yellow to green.
  • September 14, 2008: Added Mid-Autumn Festival overnight service.
  • September 28, 2014: From the early morning of the day (travel time on September 27), the service time will be extended to connect with the last train of the West Rail Line, so that passengers can transfer to this route at Tuen Mun Station. The following changes will be implemented: [2]
    • The last train from Tin King is extended by 2 minutes to 00:46 and arrives at Tuen Mun Station at 00:59, but it cannot be used to catch to the last train on the West Rail Line.
    • The last train to Tuen Mun Ferry Pier was be extended by 2 minutes to 00:51 and arrive at Tuen Mun Station at 01:07, connecting the Town Centre to the stations along the line to Tuen Mun Ferry Pier.
  • June 20, 2021: In response to the postponement of the departure time of the last train of the West Rail Line, from the same day, to coincide with the opening of the Tuen Ma Line a week later, the last train was delayed to 00:56 from Tuen Mun Ferry Pier and 01:04 from Tin King.

Car History[]

  • September 1997: When the first four Phase III LRVs were put into service, they regularly ran on this route.
  • December 14, 2009: The Phase IV LRVs were put into service, and one of the trains was initially fixed on this route.
  • March 22, 2010: Phase IV LRV No. 1114 was put into service, the first line with 2 Phase IV LRVs running on this route.

On the morning of January 31, 2011: The first refurbished Phase I LRV was officially put into service, on the initial regular running and direct trains from Light Rail Route 505. Starting from the Christmas holiday in 2011: the tow trucks on Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays are increased to four sets, and the car sequences were 022, 024, 026 and 027.
