Exhibition Centre Station (會展站[Remark 1][Remark 2])[2] is one of the stations of the MTR East Rail Line, located in the southeast of the junction between Hung Hing Road and Fleming Road (the former site of the Wan Chai Ferry Pier Public Transport Interchange, now underneath the Exhibition Centre Station Public Transport Interchange), north of Great Eagle Centre and Harbour Centre in Wan Chai North, Wan Chai, Hong Kong Island. The station is named after the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre to the west of the station, serving passengers travelling to and from the exhibition, convention and commercial facilities in northern Wan Chai.
Under the final alignment of the Sha Tin to Central Link, the East Rail Line connects to the cross-harbour section of the Sha Tin to Central Link (merged into the East Rail Line) to reach the Exhibition Centre Station, and then terminates at Admiralty Station. The development of convention and commercial facilities on top of the station, originally intended to be no more than 50 metres above Principal Datum, was announced to be shelved on 25 November 2020 due to technical issues[3]. In addition, there will be 14,000ft2 of public open space in the northwest part of the station with at least 30% green space, which will be managed and maintained by the operator and open to the public free of charge all day long.
