- The first phase of the Light Rail (excluding San Wai to Kei Lun Stop, Shan King (South) and Shan King (North) Stops) was officially opened.
- Light Rail Routes610, 611and612put into service
2006: Ngong Ping 360 was put into service for the first time.
2019: The MTR Corporation announced at 6:10 a.m. that after repair work, a platform service would be available at Hung Hom Station on the East Rail Line starting that day. The East Rail Line's Hung Hom Station to Lo Wu Station maintains a 7-minute frequency; Mong Kok East Station to Lo Wu Station maintains a 3.5-minute frequency; Tai Po Market Station to Lok Ma Chau Station maintains a 12-minute frequency. Passengers who want to go from Hung Hom Station to Lok Ma Chau Station need to transfer to a train terminating at Lok Ma Chau Station at Tai Po Market Station or a subsequent station.
