2014: The government announced the "Railway Development Strategy 2014"
2019: At 8:29 in the morning, an East Rail Line train derailed while entering Hung Hom Station, resulting in the suspension of the train service between Hung Hom and Mong Kok East Station on the East Rail Line for the whole day, and the cancellation of intercity passenger services on that day.
